Co-ordinator of the Out of School Care Program, called Lux Mundi, which means Light of the World – Todd Fitzsimmons
Todd has worked at Cathedral School since 1994.
He runs the Out-of-School Care Program, which keeps him busy all the year round. He loves sports and keeping active and enjoys teaching children about how sports and fitness are important in all our lives. Working with children keeps him young at heart as he has been doing it for 15 years.
“My biggest joy is watching the students at Cathedral School grow up and accomplish new things. If you can’t find me at School, I’m usually playing some kind of sports or limping around.”
I have prior experience working with children as a summer camp leader at the University of Mount Royal. I created a safe and fun learning environment for children of all ages throughout the summer.
I also worked for the Calgary Board of Education for two summers helping teachers with Taiwanese exchange students. I have volunteered with Math Mania (a math fair that goes to local elementary schools), summer camps and various community fundraisers such as Skate a Kid to Camp. I was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta and have always had a love for teaching and learning from children of all ages.
Leah Assmus is in her second year of a four year elementary education program at the University of Victoria. She is very excited to be a part of the Out of School Care / Lux Mundi team and looks forward to meeting you, greatly looking forward to getting to know you and your families. Feel free to come and say hello on the playground!
