January 2012
Grade 8 students are energetic (usually), see the glass half full (most of the time), dedicated to learning… all the time!
This second term of grade 8 is busy and challenging.
Students are currently putting together portfolios of their work and trying to decide which high school to attend in the fall. We are organizing a new service project with the St. Vincent de Paul Society to collect fresh fruit and veggies once a month.
As well, we are planning an early spring sale to raise funds for our Free the Children commitment – building a school in Haiti. Our academic focus this term is on Ancient Rome, The Holocaust, and in French class, preparing for a fashion show…en Francais!
We will be returning to our volunteer work at the Rainbow Kitchen in early February and we are looking forward to the upcoming ski trip.
