Christ Church Cathedral School is a lively community of children, parents, grandparents, friends and staff.

Every recess and lunch hour the somewhat quiet confines of the Cathedral close, the Deanery and the Diocesan offices echo to the sounds of children in the School playground.

The students reflect the diversity of the Victoria community and come from many areas of the city.

The School accepts girls and boys who are Anglicans as well as children from many different religious and non-religious backgrounds. They stay at the School from
Kindergarten to Grade 8.

As an elementary and middle school, CCCS enables its students to go on to high school in Grade 9. They can go on to attend a variety of public or independent schools in the city, very well prepared to meet the challenges of secondary education.

Our teachers are distinguished by their skill in the classroom and their dedication to the children in their care. Specialist teaching in subjects such as Art, Music, French and Physical Education supplements their wide variety of skills.

Their co-operative way of working benefits the children in many ways and they are constantly up-grading their skills, be it in First Aid and CPR or through the opportunities for classroom based professional development which are open to them.

They have a very close relationship with the children that enables them to keep an eye on their progress and provide assistance in any particular area when needed.

They also believe very strongly in working closely with parents in the partnership which education must be to be successful.

Our administrative staff consists of the Head of School and his Administrative Assistant, and our Out of School Programs Co-ordinator. Their involvement with the children in their daily lives at school reflects that of the teachers.

Parents at CCCS are involved in many different ways in the life of the School community.

The Parents Support Group arranges social functions and helps with fund raising, while individual parents and grandparents volunteer their time and energy to help the teachers and the children.

The outstanding spirit of commitment to the School is shown by the fact that at our volunteer recognition event we often have as many volunteers as there are children in the School.

Not everyone is able to volunteer and that is understood, but all our parents are involved in the educational partnership with the teachers.

The Board of Governors works tirelessly in support of the School in a volunteer capacity. Their wisdom and their work help to safeguard the mission of the School, and maintain stability while encouraging progress and improvement. The support of the people of Christ Church Cathedral Parish is also important for the success of the School.
