The academic work is demanding and children are encouraged to excel in their areas of strength. They are also provided with assistance and individual attention whenever possible.
We encourage initiative and self-discipline to help prepare children for the demands of secondary and higher education.
We have a Learning Assistance teacher who works with small groups of children to bring their reading and number skills up to a higher standard, and those children who show particular aptitude in certain subject areas are given the opportunity to pursue their studies even further.
There is a strong emphasis on the arts, with curricular and extra-curricular programs in music and drama, public speaking and debating.
Our music program is centred on choral music and the children perform on a regular basis in the School, in the Cathedral and within the community.
Many curricular activities are supported by field trips in the area.
Various extra-curricular activities take place throughout the year, or for certain periods of time.
As well as music and drama, there are opportunities for children to take part in swimming, badminton, skating, soccer, basketball, track and field and volleyball.
At the same time we encourage the children to be involved in projects of service to the community and of environmental conservation.
