Enrollment Overview
We are thrilled you are considering our school for your child’s education and your childcare needs!
Our school offers a comprehensive curriculum that promotes academic excellence while nurturing your child’s social, emotional, and spiritual growth. Our dedicated teachers work closely with students to develop their individual strengths and abilities, ensuring that they receive a well-rounded education that prepares them for success in high school and beyond.
Our Junior Kindergarten program provides a strong foundation for young learners, focusing on developing literacy and numeracy skills and fostering creativity and a love of learning. As students progress through our programs, they continue to build on this foundation with engaging and challenging coursework in language arts, mathematics, social studies, science, and the arts.
At our school, we believe that education extends beyond the classroom. We offer a variety of extracurricular activities, including athletics, music, drama, community service, and clubs that allow students to explore their interests and develop important life skills.
As an Anglican independent school, we are committed to fostering a strong sense of community and providing opportunities for spiritual growth.
Step 1
We invite you for a first meeting with the Head of School and a tour. Contact the school office at 250-383-5125 or cathedralschool@cathedralschool.ca to set up a time.
You will go away with some written information and a good idea of the kind of School we are in. Following that, we invite you to return and bring your child, and if he or she is transferring from another School, we would like to see reports and any other relevant documents. This is not a formal interview but more of a chance to get to know your child and for him or her to see the School. You might also like to meet the teacher who will teach your child.
Step 2
The next step is to make your initial registration at the School Office. This is when you are officially entered into our books and take your place in the line. Our intake of students is based on siblings first and all others on a ‘first come, first in’ basis. Places are limited, so contact us as early as possible.
You will receive notification of term dates and all relevant information before School starts in September. Meanwhile, if there is anything you need or want to know before the opening of School, you are welcome to call or visit. There are staff members at the School throughout the summer.
Subject to the availability of places, we take children at all grade levels. We can also take children into the School during the year, subject again to the availability of places and careful consideration of the child’s best interests.
Bursaries are available
Financial assistance for families in need is available through our bursary program in association with Apple Financial Services. Find out more here.
Lux Mundi – childcare and camps
During school months, Lux Mundi runs from 3:15 pm – 6:00 pm after school ends for the day (Cathedral students + those registered from other schools); it is also open on most weekdays when school is not. Lux Mundi is also offered during most holidays and as a summer program.
We also prioritize the safety and well-being of our students. Our school has strict health and safety protocols to protect our students and staff during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
If you are interested in learning more about our school and the enrollment process, we encourage you to contact us to schedule a tour. We look forward to showing you all our school offers and welcoming your family into our community.
